CYSTIC FIBROSIS

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic fatal disease that affects the respiratory system of 30,000 people in the United States. CF causes the body to produce a thick, sticky mucus that clogs the airways of the lungs and can lead to life-threatening infections, scarring, and decreased lung function.

CF also causes the pancreas to work insufficiently, preventing the body from absorbing vital nutrients.

The current life expectancy for someone with CF is only around 40 years old. Great strides have been made in the fight against CF, and a cure is closer than ever. Because of generous support, new advances are being made for life-saving and transformative therapies and drugs.
