Fika

FIKA RSVP for JUNE 23 below

What is Fika?

Fika is a time for us all to come together as a community, connect over a cuppa and cake, laugh, cry, and learn. Upon every scheduled Fika, we will send out a FIKA prompt. A prompt card is pulled from a fun
topics deck created by the Moth Storytelling Series . if you're not familiar with "The Moth" Story Hour, I highly recommend the radio show or podcast. The great thing about this deck is the prompts allow for so many varying interpretations. To help assure you and encourage you - Johanna, Erin, Linda, and Ashley have tried out a few of the topic cards as they prepare to host FIKA. Here is a link to their "stories": "Landmark" FIKA <- Click HERE

You will see the card topic we chose and the responses that were created. It hopefully will show the many directions a person can go from a single prompt.

***Please know that you do not need to feel pressure to share a story. You can simply come, listen, converse, enlighten, and be enlightened. Feel free to write down your story, jot down some notes, bring pictures to talk about, or simply record it into a voice memo and share. There's no wrong way to FIKA.

1). Make yourself some coffee, tea, or ice tea.

2). Grab your favorite snack.

3). Let's FIKA! ZOOM LINK: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5788052500?pwd=NjFhcEY4K1UvN0F0T20xM3k0cmt6Zz09

*FIKA is reserved for individuals 18+. FIKA is a safe, open, and encouraging space in which ALL PEOPLE and THEIR STORIES are welcome. Anything outside of this will not be tolerated.

PROMPT
FAMILY - prepare a story related to the fruit on your family tree, by blood or by choice. Genetic gems and hereditary hazards. Natrue versus nurture. Secrets, lies, recipes, traits, heirlooms, legacies, and family curses. Bragging points or closets pried open, bring tales of your people.

Need some more direction? Tell us about….
- A time you found an unexpected family
- A time the reunion wasn’t so sweet
- A time the apple didn’t fall far from the treet
- A time there was bad blood
